It’s a day when we remember the police officers who have fallen in the line of duty.

The people of the UK have been shocked by the murder of Sergeant Matt Ratana a police officer from Croydon who was murdered in the line of duty.

It never ceases to amaze me how little respect some people have for the police. Every year when we celebrate Holi and Diwali I always inform the police of our occasion. I give them a breakdown of the attendees.

There’s never any trouble but the police ALWAYS turn up. They know I’ll never let them go without giving them a meal.

These brave men and women put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe. Those who have fallen must NEVER be forgotten.

Please sign this parliamentary petition to ask for tougher sentences for those who assault the police.

The way I look at it is simple. A police officer makes an oath of allegiance to the Queen. Thus an attack on a police officer must be taken as seriously as an attack on the Queen herself and is therefore an act of treason.
